The first details of the next generation of Alfa Romeo Spider 2015 on the web have emerged over the weekend. Apparently, the Italian automaker plans to the new Alfa Spider for sale in about two years. The new Alfa Spider (2015) is built on the chassis of the Mazda MX5 in Japan. Alfa Spider was designed by a joint team of Italy and Japan, led by Marco Tencone.
Marco Tencone was responsible for the design of the new Maserati Quattroporte and the Ghibli. The style of the Alfa Romeo Spider 2015 is inspired by the classic models of cars, which have a modern interpretation.
However, the new spider will not have a retro look. Alfa Spider will be equipped with conventional lamps, each with five LED DRL, and an indicator. Apparently, the Alfa Spider 2015 will share the windshield, over the structure before the engine compartment and the trees with the MX5. According to our sources, the future Alfa Spider is 1.7 m wide, slightly longer than the MX5 and weight will be between 1000 and 1100 kg.
To power the new Alfa Spider manufacturer has opted for a turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir TB available in two power levels: 119bhp and 168bhp. The engine will transfer its power to the wheels through an automatic dual-clutch transmission 6 speed.
